Nah, one of the complaints is that captain felt like a spectator or cameraman so making him watch the tragedies unfold and do nothing about it would just cause another boycott

Similarly, giving tragic backstories or torturing girls on screen would also cause another boycott because these types hate if their waifu is ""used goods"".

It's an EXTREMELY hard problem to fix since the devs are playing tug of war between two sides that want two different things and rewrites usually tend to be hot burning garbage.

Haru seems to be insanely strong from the trial version they let you play? She even comes with her own tutor cards that let you bring Anchor Shot to hand or buff it to hit harder
