Reindeer, moose, lynx, foxes, wolves. Luonto.
Though most Finns believe in the Finnish gods, most on the surface barely keep the gods in mind. They are caught in a rat race of everyday life, with no time to spare on prayers. They offer the gods very little.
Down here, the idea something they might not see giving them the strength to contine is their only power. It's all they have. It is all they can do, to believe.
And so they believe harder than most.
A gestalt of praying voices, a choir of souls singing pleading cries, reaching for something. And thus did their gods bestow them.
The creatures leer at you. Trespasser. Slayer. Uplander. Overdweller. That's what you are to them.
The concern you feel is merited. The gods watching these people are not yours.
