yes, the script is indeed old. but it is not ancient hebrew, nor does it use the neohebrew lexicon which eliezer judas invented less than 150 yrs ago (from yiddish arabic and aramaic if we recall the article)
use of Babylonian is indeed a Rabbinic tradition (since rabbis did not exist in ancient Israel, they came from Babylonia after Cyrus sent the jews back)
