It's essentials so Ruby. I've made some external tools in Python though like my updater. I've spent a lot of time adding little bits of polish to essentials instead of even being able to recreate the maps. I'm only up to Rustboro and the only interiors I have done are the Pokecenters and Marts and Littleroot.
