It's an MMO/JRPG style boss fight in an xcomlike which is like the worst of both worlds. You don't get the large variety of spells and items and equipment in those games (only 4 actions total but really 3 for most dolls wtf?) but the boss also completely ignores all of the xcomlike mechanics like cover, stability, and positioning.
