Isa is the messiah because he has the unique duty of returning to the Earth to defeat the Dajjal and revert all the Christians to Islam. Isa never claimed to be divine. Not only that but he and every prophet of the Bible prayed like Muslims, not Christians, yet Christians ignore this and pretend like any form of prayer is sufficient for Allah(much like how pagans view prayer).
