I agree that Taimanin VN's are primarily porn games, so nobody should expect the girls NOT to be fucked and raped.
But there is too much effort put into stuff, outside of raping, to just throw away and say that it doesn't matter. Sure, it doesn't matter to you and sometimes people can care about the "silliest" things, but people do care about stories, lore and character arcs of these games. They are not the best things ever, but they are not bad either. So it's okay for fans to want something more or something to be explored further.
I doubt that people care that much about something like Boku no Pico. I am going to take a wild guess and blame it on the fact, that Lilith themselves wanted to add something to the rape games and maybe overdid it a bit, so that even people that don't like or share these fetishes can latch onto the series. Hell, even cool designs alone can do that.

On the useless whores part: even in the VN's themselves, Asagi and co. do fight the underworld of Japan, hindered by the corruption of the system or by too overpowered enemies. For example, the beginning of TA 2 clearly shows, that they are capable people, only defeated by an absolute beast like Saya.
Sure, i can agree that some ways of their captures are too stupid and make characters look bad, despite all attempts to make it look plausible (i am looking at you Taimanin Yukikaze 1. The second one is much better at this). And now we have gachas, where the good guys can fight the bad guys, even without getting raped(wow).

Also, we literally have two VN cases of Taima mothers, so what was the point of arguing against it, if it already happened?
They are normal women, maybe with added ninja training for their kids in Shiranui's case, that get fucked up, when they start to involve themselves or involuntarily get involved in Taimanin business. Where is the "happy ending" and "wholesome vibes" in that?
