Actual passion, which is fucking rare these days.
All the clones i've seen were dogshit because they were just retards going "WE ARE MAKING SDT 2!!!" for clout or money.
To have a proper remake/successor it just needs someone who does not give a shit about it and just remakes it because he loves SDT and makes a good clone without geeling the need to 1-up it, at least before making it useable.

It needs to be a labor of love, not modern dev fellatio contests.
