An extraordinary testimonial to the divinity of Christ, by Napoleon Bonaparte. Take it for what it’s worth, bearing in mind that it was allegedly recorded by one of his generals, visiting Napoleon on St. Helena, at which point Napoleon would have had a great deal of time to think about his life.. and the ‘meaning’ of life. Also, bear in mind that Napoleon was well-regarded as a ‘man of letters,’ who actually travelled with a personal library of books, and who had written thousands of letters on all manner of subjects. The manner of his speaking on the subject seems consistent with his education and experience, but make your own judgement on the authenticity of the piece. All things considered, it comes across as a compelling, and if not at least, an interesting testimony.
NAPOLEON’S ARGUMENT FOR THE DIVINITY OF CHRIST, and THE SCRIPTURES .. in a conversation with General Bertrand, at St. Helena. Translated from the French.
