Avitanan Or(Noa's boyfriend) is a serving special forces soldier, a member of Sayeret Matkal, known as "The Unit" they are based off the British SAS and even share the same motto with a focus on sabotage, deep recon behind enemy lines, counter terror and ironically hostage rescue. It's also why he was surprisingly calm in the now infamous footage as Noa is being driven off on motorbike reaching out for him as he is led at gunpoint by multiple fighters.

It means he's got a brain and very good memory, he's probably mapped out the place he was in and logged every little detail about individual enemy soldiers and their families(female Hamas members are confirmed in the tunnels) and probably counted all the turns in vehicle and tunnel transit points. That's what he's trained for.

He kept it hidden for a full two years and never broke during interrogations acting as an innocent festival goer with his girlfriend and he worked in a car mechanic place(his official cover, not anymore)
