DI is just the blatant robbery mechanic
Nobody who ever got hit with a DI in neutral thinks "damn I got outplayed"
Nobody who ever counter DI's thinks "I'm gawdlike" they think "damn what a retard"
DI is kinda fun in burnout scenarios where the stakes are higher, but the mechanic is there to give dopamine hits to low level players in exchange for 0 skill. It's a crutch that teaches them bad habits in the long run and makes the gane a qte in the short term.
Just cause something has a counter and you can adapt, or isn't totally op and broken, doesn't mean that it's good.
