Steamdeck proved to me that gaming was viable on Linux and I switched to Archlinux in August. So far I've been doing fine with it. Even kernel-level anticheat works unless you're EA and you specifically target and defend against emulation layers like Proton and Wine, which is why I can't play BF6. But I haven't played an EA game since they tried to ram Origin down my throat so I don't really care.
Bazzite is probably the most retard-friendly Linux gaming distro, it is supposedly for gamers and specifically prevents you from fucking anything up and comes prepackaged with gpu drivers. Ubuntu and Mint should be fine too. Don't install Arch unless you like computers, are a virgin and accept that you'll be fixing things that have broken randomly, which is why I installed it.
