i've had this sillier idea floating around in my head for a while of a system where any (non-player) party member can be put into the role of a navigator with their own kinda approach to the whole thing (some might specialise in mapping, others at support, etc.) and the battle theme slightly changes in vibe based on who's navigating - so like, your "bro" figure might be more j-rockish, maybe the "delinquent" has a boom-bap vibe, the "nerd" might have chiptune elements, that kinda thing. seems like a lot of work though and i don't think the navigator system is likely to change anyway rip
