The only reason anyone paid any attention to Kingdom Hearts was because of the crossover stuff, mainly Disney. It wasn't special outside of that really.
You could argue the graphics are great but without the Disney art design I kind of doubt it would have looked very interesting. All the not-Disney stuff was pretty bland I think.
