Yeah, especially in high tension areas it was amazing. But that stuff required actual communication and a team strategy. We can't have any of that stuff anymore in modern games, now everything has to be bog standardized, filled to the brim with a boring meta, no communication or fun allowed. And after it's done everybody just leaves the party without a word. Old titles forced people to bond, form teams and there was a high chance you'd make some permanent connections out of a pug group if things went well.
But now we can't risk things going south, that would ruin the instant gratification mechanics instead of actually conquering a challenge. I fucking miss it so badly.
