That's perfectly fine and good, necessary even because if you don't find answers within what you hear or read then you'll just be following a religion without any of the faith.
I do believe wholeheartedly that Noah walked with God and that the Nephilim and the Giants walked the earth in old, old times, and believe most of not all things written on the Bible because I have faith in what other people saw.
If you ask questions and don't find satisfying answers then I won't fault nor berate you for not believing in the written word. At the end of the day its your prerogative what path you choose and which way to walk, but the faithful will always keep the door open.
