I only played the original, I believe an inversion of what you described is going on there, two of the main heroine routes show what happens when things go wrong but also give ideas what's really going on in the setting, and then Natsuha is unlocked and gets the best deal in her own route
(if you don't like unlockable routes you could technically say YES at the start of happy end and go to her route right away, but in my opinion Arisu is where the best kino happens so don't fucking skip that)
