It's the same thing wherever you go for all of these legacy otaku game publishers. Compile Heart and NIS are running into the exact same problems, their sales also having gone into the shitter, with increasing signs that they are struggling behind the scenes (CH/IF has had to delay THREE games this year for unknown reasons). It's not just that they can't make the kind of risque games they used to because of industry-wide regulations, even when they do, the audience that used to show up for them doesn't. Vita games used to do 50k in Japan alone. Now they're lucky to do 5k. Why? Because Reiwa otaku have shown they are not willing to invest in anything but gacha and VTubers. So even if they DO make those ecchi games again, going through hell and high water to push through all the censorship, they will be rewarded with 10k sales at best. So at this point, why even try? And I think that's the mindset most of them have adopted, which is why you see their output getting lazier and lazier quality-wise, on top of not having the budget they used to. They're all basically juts punching the clock waiting for the end now. "Ruuning out the clock" on puritanism isn't going to happen, this is something the west has building up to since the 60s and no party with any power is interested in undoing the civil rights legislation that this is all downstream of. It's not going to get any better until the current western political elite is overthrown, because they're all in lockstep with this. Straight male sexuality is demonized and men are treated as disposable workhorses or dangerous rape monsters and it's that way no matter where you go because feminism rules the west. The only place that might stand up for these games is Japan and even that hope is fleeting.
