Besides obvious lameness of his design, the funniest aspect for me is his solution to Sonic's decline as a top vidya franchise is is to...pander solely to adults who played the original games on Genesis, not to kids because supposedly only those adults like Sonic. First, how are you going to pander to those adults by stripping out everything that makes Sonic Sonic, surely they would be the most sensitive to deviating, but second...kids fuckin' love Sonic. Kids have always loved Sonic. Every generation has kids that love Sonic. That has never changed. Kids see the Sonic movies and they know every character and little game reference and go wild for them. Kids went crazy when they showed Shadow at the end of Sonic 2.
