Muggles and their bombs as a serious threat actually serve as useful origin stories for voldemort, generally in the fanfics where Harry and Voldemort fall in love. They play up Tom Riddle being forced to live in London during the blitz, as Dumbledore would not let him stay at Hogwarts for the summer just like Harry later on. Sometimes it's Tom Riddle as the woman in these stories, other times it's Harry.
