You can allocate some of the blame to them for the way they reacted, but no matter what, you should direct the bulk of your ire to Sony, Nintendo and Valve for forcing this situation on them. If they try and dial up the ecchi fanservice again, there's a chance they'll just get locked out of every single platform like Tokyo Clanpool did. Unironically there needs to be a legal solution to this. If payment processors can get blowback and restrictions placed on actions they can take in the name of "brand protection/reputation", so should Nintendo, Sony and Valve. Devs that deal in risque or controversial content need legal safeguards from deplatforming; Tokyo Clanpool's situation has shown me this. There is no reason all four major platforms should be doing this. They need to be regulated as public marketplaces to ensure the rights of devs to access the market on a fair and even playing field. Call it the Fair Access to Markets Act or something. Point is, if you run a platform that artists and developers heavily rely on for distribution, you should have responsibilities to them, to treat them fairly no matter what content they deal in.

It's not just "adult" content; Tokyo Clanpool is a PG M-rated Vita game and it couldn't find a single store to release on unaltered, likely because of this bullshit. Something needs to be done about it.
>There's a bill already in US Congress that would make this stuff from the payment processors and CC companies illegal. If you're an American, call your Congressman and Senators to urge they support it or (if already cosponsor) that it gets a vote. Have your name, zip code, return phone number, and the bill number handy when you do. Quantity of support is all those things care about.

Fanservice/ecchi games. Tokyo Clanpool, a Vita game, tried three different storefronts and couldn't release uncensored on any of them. Not even GOG. Then even games with mild fanservice, especially with lolis, will start getting hit. Like what happened to the Neptunia Re;Birth games when they tried to release on Switch. They were all T-rated, by the way.
