As trans become more prominent under the countenance of gays, the majority understanding of the relationship has changed, and tolerance for gays is definitely in a tailspin downward.
I have seen the overblown reports that more people are identifying as lgb. But this is a half-truth; a lot of them are girls who simply change identities when its convenient or trendy. Lesbian/bisexual women get to "convert" simply by making a lifestyle decision. Gays don't have that option. Women are seen as flighty and fluid and lose none of their feminine attributes by being temporarily lesbian. Men do not have that luxury and are seen as permanently crippled men from the time they come out to the time they are dead. Lesbians get a chance to merge with the herd, gays do not. Bisexuals are just seen as confused gays or demented straights.
