Hurricane Katrina is the example I point to when I tell people to aquire private sale firearms and store them away from ones they own on paper.
If government shows up on your doorstep after a disaster and pulls you out of the house, searches for and steals your firearms, then leaves you to the mercies of the local feral negroes, there's nothing you can do besides be mad.
But once they leave, you can go out to your stash & retrieve one of what I hope is several cached pieces. At least then, you're not totally helpless.
Pic for attention.
