Welcome back to Winner Histories, where I'll be going over how each of our Mr. /co/lympus Winners rose to the top in their year of glory!
>Daffy Duck, from "Looney Tunes"
The Looney Tunes Number 2, a /co/lympus former runner-up, and a waterfowl with the unfortunate distinction of losing to not one, not two, but three eventual winners. This duck has certainly been through the wringer, but honestly that's pretty on-brand for this zany bird. And what's more, that never stopped his massive popularity, and it didn't stop his eventual win in the 8th Mr. /co/lympus tournament. He even got the #1 seed that year (his second in a row!). Yeah, this win did only happen a week or so ago, but there's no harm in reminiscing how this duck finally got his day.
Daffy's first opponent was the Brain! ...Wait, no, it's CIA. Actually, it's Jake the Dog from "Adventure Time". There was a bit of chaos in the Qualifiers, but the stretchy dog(?) was the one left as Daffy's opponent when the dust cleared. Not that it mattered to our mallard, who promptly swept Jake away by 68%, 258-117. Hey, Daffy was the #1 seed, this was the expected result.
And in Round 2, a rematch - The Monarch, from "The Venture Bros"! Daffy had beaten the mighty Monarch in Round 2 of the previous year, and the supervillain was out for revenge, and to prove that he could match up to his spouse! ...Unfortunately, Daffy Duck didn't care for the butterfly man's shenanigans, and swatted him away with 60% of the votes, 225-145. Daffy commented later, "He was truly dethpicable."
I must be having deja vu, because the third round matchup sounds very familiar... it's Kinger, from "The Amazing Digital Circus"! Kinger's second year in bracket resulted in a similar level of success, and he was hoping to sweep the board this year, in order to not be left behind by Pomni and Ragatha. Unfortunately, Daffy's a dab hand at checkers, and claimed 55% of the votes, 225-178. Well, you DO have to take the king to win in chess...
