Also, as for the pedals, delay is like a two-for one combo, 'cause it can work as an effect (duh) and as a practice tool, sort of like a metronome as it helps you play in time with the delayed sound. Saturation and overdrive are other cool effects that you could get, and an octave effect is also pretty nice to have. If you want to get technical, an EQ is a must, but you must know a thing or two about how equalizers work to get it working right. Most brands are alright, though always check the reviews, usually Boss, Vox and MXR are the best, as far as I know. And don't forget that you can make your own effects with a circuit and other shit, DIY 'till death
