Almost every single manga ever made has a quality fall off over time. They might occasionally have strong moments but the overall quality A L W A Y S goes down.

It's the nature of the medium. They make strong pitches to get greenlit, but then they have consistent deadlines so they never smoothly reach the planned ending (often there is no planned ending and the story just meanders aimlessly).

They're similar to games that release episodically. They get lost along the way and the core themes get muddied.

You'll also always see mangaka do the same tired things partway through their run as they run out of ideas. It'll suddenly become a battle manga for several chapters, or a whole volume. Stupid filler arcs such as a tournament that don't even fit the original genre. Sudden, forced romance that detracts from the story.

And then when these ideas fail, the manga gets cancelled and suddenly the super long story arc of "gathering the 7 magic plot mcguffins" is wrapped up halfway through the 2nd mcguffin and the whole thing is just over.

tl;dr manga is shit read books
