You are describing the Post-schismatic Catholics. The Franks wanted to cement their control over Rome, and began tinkering with the Creed and theology. That led to the schism, and the list you wrote are the fruits of that. But let's not pretend Western Europe was free of war and slaughter pre-Christianity. Even in its deformed state that spawned the Cathar and Protestant heresies, its an improvement over the eye for an eye culture that preceded it.
