>, instead of coming off as a creep, he genuinely puts forward a good face and convinces Sherry to come with him with his good cop act, misconstrue Claire's intentions by twisting how he knew her brother and why he and the rest of STARS except for Brad got fired, that kind of thing
>I mean, that could work great unless Chris already warned Claire about Irons being a corrupt dick before the game started, which btw; did he actually did that?

>No. That's .. sort of the point of Claire trying to find Chris
she hasn't spoken to him in about a year, and he wasn't returning any of her calls or letters, so she goes to the city to ask him why he's ghosting her.
>He had no reason to be wary of Irons before Umbrella either, as Irons - in the original games - put forth the image of an upstanding and righteous chief that was respected by most, and only had undertones of being an asshole that few people picked up on (e.g. when he verbally abused his secretary for fucking around with the statues, which shocked her because it was "out of character" for him.)
>Irons revealed his true colors to STARS when they attempted to get him to investigate Umbrella, only for him to shut them down, disparage them via controlled news media, and fire them over it.
>In the original Irons seemed like he could put on a genuine front for the public, despite being a psychotic bad guy, and he even seemed to have a genuine sense of "Raccoon City is my city and if I can't protect it then no one can!", like he maybe had some genuine intentions but he lost his mind. RE2R just makes him a sleazy, creepy idiot from the getgo because edgier is better I guess.
>Consider that in the original taxidermy notes, he just says that killing a tiger was so exhiliarating that it made him dizzy. In RE2R he says he jizzed over it.
