>it’s not just stress or “getting older.”
Definitely not, certain time periods seem to slow down, I've seen people say this summer (June-August) felt a bit longer than past summers such as '23/24, and I can confirm this feeling. Also, certain years rocketed by so fast that they barely seemed to exist (2022) while 2021 and 2023 felt interminable. As an old-ass unc, I can confidently declare that the distortions started in 2016. Ever since Trump came down the escalator, time began to squeeze and lengthen and distort in all sorts of ways; 2010-15 felt like evenly spaced years in my mind. The 2016 shift was extremely noticeable (where the fuck did 2017 go? Why did it last half as long as 2016 and 2019?). "Age perception" is just cope.
