I play solo exclusively and enjoy the aspect of just another cog in the machine aspect of it, however I agree with others that groups are the way to go if you want to have bigger impact. Depending on your role the learning curve/time investment differs, this is all my opinion though so take it how you will. Infantry main -> a little bit of knowledge required but easy enough to get into, time isn't really a factor as its just how much you wanna run around shooting the other side. Builder -> Similar to infantry but requires a bit more knowledge on what's an effective build for the area, what you're expecting to face. Building and then teching defences is a big time sink though. Logi main -> Requires knowledge regarding recipes, facility/factory usage, what items are required where. If you have time to kill can be fun to grab a truck, put on a podcast and just run goods from the back to the front. Facility main -> Quite a large learning curve and time investment, IMO do not attempt solo or you will burn out. Probably my most played game of the year but the game does get tedious when you sit back and watch the hordes tunnel vision on an objective while the rest of the front burns.
