>26, Crit Success!
You didn’t wait for a single second longer as you took off and ran. Not looking back you could hear the men chasing you as their armour made one hell of a ruckus. They shouted for you to stop, but that was futile just like their chase was and quickly you managed to increase the distance between you and them.
Through an alley, over a fence. It didn’t take long for you to not hear their footsteps or shouts and you could slow down to a jog and carefully continue through the alleys to where Sir Fordragon’s home was. The run had made your heart beat fast and your breathing was ragged, but the alternative of getting caught or stopped wouldn’t be what you wanted to happen.
Now just to find Sir Fordragon’s home.
…
There was a horse cart with a guard standing next to it watching Sir Fordragon’s home. The house looked perfectly mundane and didn’t look much different from the other houses on the street. But the guard watching the front door was an issue, you couldn’t get past him, so you had to go around.
It took you a bit of effort to go around some of the houses and you found the correct small low walled backyard. Getting over the wall wasn’t that difficult and you dropped down on the dirt. You could see some light through the wooden window covers. The back door was closed and you walked to it, knocking several times.
You waited, it was quite late and if he was already sleeping, it would take a moment for him to come to the door. You knocked again, waited and knocked once more. Finally you could hear footsteps from inside that came for the back door and it was opened.
Immediately you found yourself looking at a tip of a sword and you raised your hands up to pull your hood off, revealing your hair and ears. He seemed to immediately recognise you.
“I am Lady Malevus Silverthread.” You greeted the Paladin.
“Sir Bolvar Fordragon.” He said to you. “Get in.”
He sheathed his sword and you stepped into his home as he closed the door.
“Thank you for seeing me.” You said.
“I have spoken with the Archbishop, I know who you are, but I do not know why you came to see me so late at night?” Bolvar asked you and guided you into the kitchen. “There’s a curfew outside after all.”
>You wanted to know what exactly happened when Alric got arrested.
>Will the Church help you to rescue Alric? That is your end goal.
>King Varian most likely has men still looking for you. Moving during the night is preferable.
>If Bolvar has talked with the Archbishop, then he knows why you are here.
>Other, write in.
QM: Apologies, I haven’t felt that good today so it took me a while to get this update out. Still managed to get this one out.
