Normal Russians get to feel nice about not being portrayed as monsters, non-Russians get to see Snezhnaya/notRussia getting explicitly called out on invading other places and a reference to the confusion of the early encounters (with soldiers supposedly confused about the fact they started a war, that the locals aren't welcoming them with bread and salt, etc.).
