Movie style would have been fine, but they chose an absolutely horrible director and they tried to shoehorn in way more action than the route had to try and make every movie "exciting" for normalfags.
What that amounted to was reduced character development, screen time and rushed infodumps with long, stretched out fight scenes that were totally unnecessary.
The Saber Alter vs. Berserker fight was 1 or 2 lines in the VN. It went on for like 15 solid minutes in the movie.

Fuck, the part where they made it look like Rin did the transplanting of Archer's arm onto Shirou and how she gave Shirou the lowdown on how it works instead of Kotomine, who needed crucial screen time, was bullshit.
