I suggested a different stock market idea in Discord a few months ago:

Basically an interactable stock market. Each IP address is given a starting amount of virtual money. At the top of each page will be a stock ticker displaying a bunch of random made-up meme stocks (ie, PEPE or WOJAK, SNEED, ASUKA, REI, KOJIMA, etc. I'd try and get memes/references from all around the site.) The value of each of these stocks will randomly go up and down throughout the day, as well as giving mods the ability to manually change the price of stocks, for instance they could simulate a stock crashing to zero or a short-squeeze where a stock goes up like 20x in the span of an hour.)

Users will be able to invest their money into the different stocks and either gain more money or lose it. Each users net worth will be displayed next to the posts they make on the site.

It would basically turn a lot of the site into /biz/ for a day. Users would spend the day shitposting about getting everyone to invest in certain stocks or sell others, some users would make millions while others would go bankrupt. Mods could join in by posting publicly telling users to invsest/sell certain stocks.

Don't know how feasible this is but I think it would be fun, and would relate to current events with how popular stocks are nowadays.
