I think that currently, in the here and now moment, the evil is pervasive and so bad that, it's like a corrupted save file from an RPG game, and God is seeing if He can do the impossible by trying to salvage some sort, any sort, of justice and meaning from this completely fucked situation. When evil wins, everyone loses, and everyone is caught in a stagnant loop, even the rich people, ironically, because only people that make positive changes should be rich, but they got rich from theft, so it's meaningless.
