I wish instead of the narrator exposition in >>281373675 and >>281373692 we got to see direct reactions from random parasyte civilians to the massacre and show them deciding to turn a leaf and adapt to human life. They disappear completely as characters after Goto's death
Also the last-minute environmental lesson felt really tacked on. If they didn't emphasize so much on the pollution and trucks dumping garbage part then it wouldn't feel so out of place, but I guess that's just the author trying to show another part of humanity's influence which is still the core theme of the series
