Nintendo really underestimated how much brand damage that shit did to them. I don't think the return for their power trip will be worth it in the end. Palworld isn't even a threat anymore - people forgot about it. Like it had its time to shine, it's going to be "full release" next year I think? But I expect it'll be a disappointment. If you played the Early Access you probably played the only real fun part, and anything else they add will probably just be fluff filling out spots like the nonexistant plotline and adding like 40% more monsters.
If Nintendo just ignored them like Temtem or whatever other Pokemon "inspired" game then it'd have just sorted itself out. People were already batting up hard to defend Nintendo when Palworld first came out, and then gradually their supporters dwindled when they realized they're rooting for the bully and not the underdog...
