Probably never, but who knows if Frankie won't be able to stop himself from adding more content. He's said several times that 2.0 is the last planned content update and 2.1 will probably just be balance and polish. But he wants to get back to paying people to work on Malison before he needs to pay taxes on his Look Outside money.

Yeah, the narrative is far weaker than Truth / Denial. For the original endings the game spends the whole time alluding to the visitor and then when you finally get to meet the thing that fucked the world it's just like "Oops, sorry." Promise on the other hand skips all that and you just get some dialogue about the Exalted Four solving everything for you. There's a part of me that likes Promise because it's just unequivocally "good", but overall I think if someone played the game and got Promise the first time their experience would be vastly worse.
