Rika wanting to leave Hinamizawa in the first place and travel around completely contradicts why she didn't just run away during the loops in the original Higurashi (she wanted to live in Hinamizawa alongside her friends) in order to make her fit Umi Bern better, who is the one who originally wanted to move away from her past.

And on top of that, you have to write her completely ignoring suffering around her in order to make her see St.Lucia as a paradise, which is really fucked up when he's just going back there at the end of Sotsu even though obviously nothing was improved over there and you still get tons of girls being subjected to its inhuman rules, they just aren't Rika's friends so the viewer shouldn't care apparently.
