I think Western media as a whole is very demasculinised. Everyone just rolls their eyes at the concepts and grants a few low-brow male orientated "The Fast and the Furious" type films to be all that's allowed for male expression in media. It's seen as embarrassing, demeaning, gauche and juvenile to create media that appeals to masculine sensibilities. Men aren't really Full Humans, why should we let them make their own media?
Whenever (straight white Western) men create their own media it's allowed to ferment on its own as a distinctly male entity until it becomes popular enough to breach mainstream attention, then it's decided to no longer be a male interest, but is now for "Everyone! (except men)" and all the male-appealing elements are sanded off into a bland, inoffensive mush that fails to appeal to anybody.
Ultimately men aren't allowed a space to create what they want, it has to be a moderated and accomodate everyone else. Spaces for other groups are allowed and encouraged, in fact, they will be taken from men to be given to everyone else at a priority.
We saw it happen with literature, video games, comic books, card games, animation, and even IPs like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, and I think Warhammer 40k's next in line for the Old Yeller treatment.
