>Welcome to Three Groves Academy, an obscenely wealthy girl's only university nestled in the Huron Mountains, during the mid-2000s. Just when Bush fatigue is starting to set in.
>Abhumans exist. These range from basically-elves to green-skinned dryads who can graft flowers onto their skin to a bunch of anthro races. They're still somewhat new so only two or three generations exist.
>The nearby city of Treabor looks out into Lake Superior. It used to be a simple mining town but after the daughter of the Japanese emperor attended Three Groves during the sixties, there has been a close relationship between the small urban center and Japan. It's made up of sixteen spirits (Light, Crystal, Cosmic, Mind, Wood, Wind, Fire, Lightning, Water, Ice, Earth, Metal, Poison, Sound, Spirit, and Shadow) and everyone gets two of them. Each are tied to an aspect of your personality and it's often the one you have an excessive amount of and one you lack the most, but it can depend based on emotional maturity.
>Traditional firearms cannot harm anyone who is steeped in magic. As you hone the power within your soul, you become less of a mortal and more divine.
>If you grow too strong without a strong social network, you become a monster who sucks the divine spirit out of people to grow stronger and impose your own reality.
>Most monsters live within the ley lines, which used to be sealed after a Christian coalition went around trying to prevent magic from dictating people's lives. Treabor's was left with a shoddy seal due to a powerful monster seeking to undermine reality itself (the demiurge).
