Another 15 minutes pass uneventfully, Windy humming a tune to himself as he goes over the operators manual, having become bored with the view already.
The stewardesses have reported that everything has been going well with the passengers as well, barring the one incident of having to physically restrain Rainbow from coming into the cockpit to drill you with question after question.
The sun has since set, and the stars gleam overhead, and that's when you see it- a patch of clouds up ahead. Right. On. Schedule.
>Twilight magically sifts through the SkyMall magazine, when she feels a prodding on her shoulder, "Huh?"
>looking right she sees Rainbow pointing out past Fluttershy, occupying herself with arranging some of the complimentary peanuts into shapes of Angel, and Rarity, who has since placed a frilly eye mask over herself, and promptly dozed off.
>"Twi, those clouds.."
>"What about them?"
>"They're not supposed to be there, Cloud Patrol should have cleared everything below us and we don't even get clouds this high up anyway!"
>"Well, we are passing over the EverFree Forest, it could be that they're just 'naturally' there?" she says, putting strain on the word 'naturally'
Just then there is a shake, as the cabin lights go out for a moment and then return.
BONG
"Attention passengers," the voice over the intercom vocalizes, "We are experiencing a bit of turbulence, nothing to be alarmed about, please return to your seats and fasten your seatbelts until the light has turned-"
The intercom cuts out sharply. The lights flicker once again.
"Twi..?" mutters Applejack peering out into the now hazy window
"It's nothing to worry about." Twilight murmurs at first before drawing herself upright, "Anon has years of experience with flying, I'm sure that-"
Another rumble fills the cabin, a nearby foal begins to cry, though it could be just because Pinkie is now standing and making funny faces much to the grimacing of the mother.
Another shake, this time much more violent, rocks the cabin pushing Pinkie back into her seat, which Twilight quickly takes advantage of, attaching the seatbelt to the pony with her magic.
The intercom crackles to life again.
"Good evening. This is your Captain," comes the voice of Anon, trailing off for a few moments, "We are about to attempt a crash landing."
