Ian Flynn is the Donald Trump of Sonic the Hedgehog. A loudmouth fraud who cons a bunch of morons into thinking he's some kind of savior, while all he's doing is dismantling every good, American foundation this series was built on. He's taking the pure, rebellious, Bill Clinton energy of Sonic and trying to saddle him with "Girl Sonic" because he doesn't have the balls to write a real dynamic with a "Nega Sonic" like Sally. He was slowly boiling the frog, injecting Maekawa's and Sonic Team's garbage, Japanese-brand characterizations into the series, overwriting the pure, American soul Naoto Ohshima gave it.
You see them trying to turn Tails into some dweeb genius instead of "Kid Sonic." The whole point of Tails is that he's a kid who wants to be as cool as his big brother, Sonic. He's a mechanic, sure, he can fix a plane, but he isn't some fucking nerd. He's supposed to be a reflection of Sonic's impact, the kid who looks up to the hero.
