It is sort of garbage, it sort of goes hard.
It is an anguished older gentleman, might represent the struggle of humanity to be free, or represent the struggle of the proletariat in their fight against their oppressors. Honestly, this album is less bloated and pretentious than Shape of Punk to Come. Sure, Shape gets most of the love and praise for being a great punk/post hardcore record but it is a "go big or go home" record and it tries to go big, it falls flat with every re-listen. Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent is the real good stuff. They're intelligent, the instrumentation is tight, and it isn't nearly as pretentious as Shape. Severely underrated album.
