>and this just elevates the combat a bit more in difficulty
The game is even easier than the original because you can only pick Hard. Impossible is just Hard but if you die it reverts to Hard with no Hand Cannon reward. The skin system just makes enemies extra spongy for no reason without making them more difficult.
>Also i disagree Force Gun feels really good in the game when one blast can just turns them into skellys.
Force Gun one-shot many Necromorphs in the original and the alt-fire was better than the OG Contact Beam. It's a downgrade in every single way.
Ripper, Contact Beam, and Flamethrower are all way better in the Remake but at the expense of the Force Gun and Pulse Rifle.
>it just balances it out in making the game more challenging
Again, the game is not challenging. It's even easier than the original because you can't play on Impossible difficulty. Ammo drops are far more plentiful than the original because outside of NG+ you get significantly more Necromorph spawns to fund you with Medium Health Packs, Contact Beam ammo, and credits in high amounts to sell thanks to the infinite respawns. In NG+ the opposite happens where tons of rooms eat through your ammo without resupplying you as much because of red-eye Necromorphs spawning now. Even with a maxed out gun of any type they take 2+ reloads to kill and it's absurd. Making Kinesis weaker like DS3 just feels awful.
>Its still better than OG and that's the point
Sure, but it's worse than the games that came before it, specifically DS2 and DS3. They already had a much better controlling and feeling system and it doesn't feel anything like them.
