Not a western mind. There's no way you could look at the success of Rome, the fundamentals of Christianity, the great minds of western thought and the morality of family, the home, the country, love, justice, pride, self advancement, etc and then come away thinking that people should be reduced to their base means and that everyone should share in wealth, status, estate, etc. Its just not western thought.
Lycurgus the Lawgiver in Sparta set the groundwork for that type of communal living, they used iron coins instead of gold so people couldn't hoard wealth. They all ate together, they shared women, etc. It doesn't matter that it was a greek city state, its not of the western mindset. The western mindset is Athenian. It emphasizes the uniqueness of man and individual purpose. It doesn't sacrifice the individual for the collective because that's literally bug thinking.
