I finished Ichi the Witch’s Bakugami arc last night, and all I could think about was that GRR Martin quote, “What was Aragorn’s tax policy?” when discussing how Tolkien avoided delving into the nitty-gritty of how that world would operate after Sauron’s defeat. They defeated Bakugami, but how is this place, which molded its entire culture and economy around this Majik for the last decade and was basically a bankrupt nation before its arrival, going to subsist going forward, exactly? Of course, the entire point of the arc was about grief, overcoming loss, family, and supporting the ones we love, and in that regard, it was a pretty solid arc. But what exactly is Richia’s tax policy?
