Yes and no. The MP7 is a laser beam but it's got a lower DPS. It's also not half as stylish as the MP5. I prefer the MP5

Click the edit profile button. Click on the loadout button in the bottom left of your preferred class and it'll let you swap the soldier there.

The MP7 is a genuine laser beam. It's kinda fucked. The UMP is fun but it's not that good. The damage and subsequent dropoff is just too low.
