I wish we could befriend reptiles for real. I've tried to befriend lizards and snakes near me but they cannot rationalize what is and isn't a foe. Lizards that can't eat you are a net positive, eating pests but unlike spiders don't hang out in my room and bite me and unlike frogs are completely silent. If I could roid one of these little ones up and teach it commands it would be the perfect pet and utility animal. If we are secretly governed by reptiles it means that the reptile brain is with enough time and effort capable of higher thought but it's hard for me to believe they wouldn't see us as food or cattle once parity is reached. Outside of snake or snapper bites they can do no wrong here, and lizards that used to be scarce are abundant now. They are getting better at surviving the winter. The woods are crawling with them these days, being in some spots one of the most seen land vertebrates in some areas.
