Ishmael has nothing and she lost Queegqueeg, something she probably hasn't fully recovered from. She claims to have an adventurous spirit but she didn't even think of what it would be like to roam the streets of T corp to catch the Time Ripper

Meaning he would be a completely different person, he would not be the Kong Qiu we know
It would have had to be a Kong Qiu that decides

Zilu just does not work. We know nothing about her
Same applies to Lei Heng. He's a battle autist but nothing else is known
Xichun would work, but she'd be boring. A lesser fit than Cathy

2nd canto centric character that could work as a sinner imo is QQ

I'm somewhat split on this
Personally I think the moment where QQ fades away while she asks Ishmael to introduce herself one last time is still one of the most emotionally vulnerable moments in the franchise (even if I consider Ishmael to be my least favorite sinner)
However, I can't see them being sexually intimate because of what QQ had to do herself everyday- forced body mutilation to get rid of the Middle tattoos
So where does that leave my conclusion?
I think they were close enough that marriage could have been a direction their relationship might have headed towards over time
BUT it never got there as they met the Pallid Whale and the rest is history
